Director Zé Casimiro Branco

Zé was exposed to the social aspect of dance from an early age. Born in Mozambique with a mix of East Timorese and Portuguese gave him a rich connection to culture, music and dance. This fusion of cultures influenced his childhood where he was exposed to many forms of music from Zouk, Kizomba, Morna and Semba. This naturally formed he’s love for Kizomba the dance. 

 

His dance journey began in 2014, where he traveled and attended many bootcamps and festival’s throughout Europe, Asia and Australia. He completed his teachers training with ALC in Porto, Portugal in 2018, from there Zé continued his training under the guidance of Eddy Vents, Ricardo and Paula, Dasmara Dos Santos to name a few. He continues to learn and grow creating his own style focusing on flow, fluidity and smoothness in the dance. Zé has mentored many students within Australia where he has taught in most major cites from Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. He has also taught workshops and bootcamps in Singapore, Malaysia, India, East Timor. Zé is also a DJ and promoter, he has successfully hosted events overseas and also co-organised one of the biggest online Kizomba/Urban Kiz DJ events “United Through Music.”

 

Zé believes in knowledge building and also challenging his students to think outside the box. He has a unique style of teaching and wants his students to leave each class with a sense of achievement.
